Working as, and hiring product managers may sound like any other role with it's own requirements and nuances. That would be a mistake in the case of the Product Manager, assuming we understand what the role actually is. A product manager is NOT a project manager, a delivery lead, a scrum master , a product designer or a technical architect. Yes, the product manager needs to know about all these roles and even be an expert in a few bit that's not the role. Product Manager is a business role, even in case of technical PMs, the role is responsible to build and drive business, to find opportunities for growth and rally the troops to ideate, experiment, build, launch, improve and even shut down initiatives.
You may not think of yourself as a business person if you are working as a product manager, but ultimately you will not succeed if you do not impact business metrics, and if you work backwards from this goal you'll see why business is the main goal of the product manager.
This said, the majority of companies and executive teams do not understand what a true product manager should be doing, and the large majority of PM jobs are actually describing project manager roles, with NO mention of understanding business. This is where the problem starts, and it rolls downhill, resulting in missed expectations all over the place, for companies, management and specially candidates.
Our goal from the jobs section is to help solve this challenge in organizations and for candidates and professionals. We start this with the job posters, to truly understand what they are looking for and clarify as quickly as possible if they are looking for a product manager or a project manager. This process, done correctly will solve so many issues in the recruiting, hiring and onboarding process as well as in the future. We trust this process so much that we guarantee success.
Combined with a full understanding of the business, goals and requirements we track success metrics and assist resolution and success along the way. Providing this as an objective stakeholder to companies will provide skin-in-the-game and increase chances of success substantially.
Once we have a full understanding and agreement on the hiring side we will engage with our network and pool of candidates for a much better experience so they do not have to shotgun hundreds of resumes with no response from the majority of companies wasting enormous amounts of time for everyone.
Our focus is on commerce, online and offline, front-end and back-end and growth and everything else related to the retail industry.
If you are interested as a candidate, new to product or experienced, please send us your information, we'd love to know you.
